With spring on our doorstep, we know summer isn't far behind. Below you'll see schedule information and some music camp options, a first for the studio.
I’m excited this year to introduce some five-day camps where we will spend intensive time studying Baroque music for our younger players & composition for our older students. Pick lessons, music camp, or both! Read below to find more information about each week.
MUSIC CAMP OPTIONS:
📷Going Baroque, for students entering grade 2 through grade 6
Monday, June 25- Friday, June 29; 9:15 – 12:00
Each 2 ¾ hour day will feature a different Baroque composer that would have lived from 1650 – 1750. We’ll hear their music, learn about their culture, learn to play a song from this era for a final day mini-recital, end with a take-home booklet of what we’ve learned and maybe we’ll wear one of those funny wigs. Snack included. Cost: $95
📷Composition Exploration, for students entering grade 7 through high school
Monday, August 5 - Friday, August 9; 9:15 – 12:00
A personal laptop or tablet will be helpful since we will be using flat, a free online tool for creating music. We’ll use our knowledge of the primary chords to help us, work through some dictation, and be intentional about music theory lessons as we create small projects at the beginning then work on a personal masterpiece for the finale. Snack included. Cost: $95
Summer Piano Lessons
Allowing for summer rest & vacations, there are eight available dates to meet for regular lessons. Your tuition will pay for six of these dates that are most convenient for your schedule. Cost: $95 (Payable in June)
Summer lessons for Mondays: June 3, 10, 24, July 1, 8, August 5 12, 19
Summer lessons for Tuesdays: June 4, 11, 25, July 2, 9, August 6, 13, 20
Summer lessons for Thursdays: June 13, 20, 27, August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Some notes to keep in mind:
Without school, some like to change around their lesson time. Perhaps meet in the morning or a different day. If that's you, let me know. During camp weeks, I may need to switch around some lesson times depending on your scheduled lesson time.If you are not interested in summer lessons, the camp might be a good option. There is one for lower level & upper level. If you are interested in both summer lessons and a camp, that's fine. It will be double the learning!! Tuition then is paid twice. If you are interested in neither summer lessons or the camp, tuition must still be paid if you want to keep a lesson spot for the fall.Camps will run only if four or more students are planned for each week.In the middle of May you will receive a sign-up for the lessons or camp you would like to participate in.
