Each 2 1/2 hour day will feature a different Baroque composer that would have lived from 1650 – 1750. We’ll hear their music, learn about their culture, end with a take home booklet of what we’ve learned, maybe wear one of those funny wigs, and for those who play piano, learn to play a song from this era. Snack included

If you took 2 hours out of 5 consecutive days, how many songs could you pass in this short amount of time. Let’s find out! This is a concentrated & focused time to practice, work through, & pass as many songs in your book as possible.
Will schedule as students request this camp
Do you ever wonder how it is that when you push the keys on the piano you get these sounds? How do those hammers operate & what are all these parts? We’ll get on the inside demonstrate the “guts” of a piano, only to dismantle the entire instrument in the end.

Inspired by a January composition class that I participated in, come & work through the process of composing your own song. If you already have written something, do another. We’ll begin with our melody & write in Noteflight, a music writing program, only to end with our cover art & performance video.
Will work together in small groups during normal lessons
The Beat Goes On
When you look at the music page, these dots strategically positioned all over with lines can be confusing to read & make sense of. It’s a whole new language so we’ll write, read & work through some of these patterns! We’ll keep it interesting with buckets, cups & other tools that help us move forward. Ends with a performance! Come join us for a rhythmic time!
July 11-14, 9:30 - 11:30 AM, for any Forte student
