It's Almost Payday!

After a good deal of preparation, practice & review, we're getting very close to recital day at Forte. If this is your first time these things might be a help to you.

Where am I going anyways?

The recital is held at New Beginnings Church, in Myerstown, right beside Country Fare Restaurant, along 422.

Do I need to arrive early?

Your teacher might speak into this more but if you would like to play the piano, or get set up with your instrument, please arrive 30-45 minutes early. There may be others who would also like to play and all set-up & testing the piano should be complete 15 minutes before we start.

How long will the program last?

Plan an hour. Sign-ups have been different this year and recital times ended up weighted very unexpectedly. It just means some will be less than an hour, while another might be 70 minutes.

Do you need to purchase tickets?

No, there are no tickets at all.

Are there limits on the space?

No, the room is very large, so any & all are welcome to come.

What should you wear?

I always appreciate when students look great! Sweatpants or t-shirts aren't very recital appropriate and after a lot of hard work, it's a pleasure seeing everyone dressing up. Unless you want an excuse to go get something new, we're not asking you to do that. But a recital isn't a regular school day or a regular lesson. It's special and our attire can be a reflection of the occasion.

Good to know

It's our pleasure to offer you refreshments at the end of each recital and I really enjoy choosing winners for a few prizes! Also a group picture with all the students is at the end of each recital.

Along with our Forte bags, t-shirts, ball caps, water bottles and blankets, we'll have new sweatshirts!!

Pictures

You'll soon be getting word about the memory pages and photos that you may purchase from the day. We will be recording and have pictures of your performer from various angles.

Encouragement Cards

In recent years, we've been giving you opportunity to give feedback to our students. Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. We'll do it again this year, so have a pen ready!! We'll have the cards ready for you!

Courtesies during the Recital

-Please don't talk or even whisper to anyone while students are playing. It can really be distracting to those who are around you.

-Please stay for the entirety of the program. While you may be through earlier, those who play later would appreciate your support and ears while they play too.

-If you need to step out, please move during the applause, not while someone is playing.

-We'll remind you to silence your phone so that you're not embarrassed when we all hear it ring!

-Flash photography is not allowed.
