November Performance!

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

“Table, tap, tap, forehead, Table, tap, friend, friend . . . “

This (and numerous variations of it) is what we kept repeating last week as we used Solo© plastic cups to help us practice, reinforce and grow in our rhythm keeping. When we accomplished the passing and kept the unison together, it was definitely a fun time, filled with plenty of smiles and laughter. While rhythm reading and keeping is a more general music topic it is incredibly necessary for our piano playing that we be competent rhythm readers and understand the patterns that we see. Thank you for making the schedule changes work and allowing your students to be apart of your assigned group.

Looking forward, please reserve Saturday, November 16, for a presentation at Stone Ridge Towne Center on Railroad Street in Myerstown. We will start at 2:00 so if you arrive at 1:50 that will be plenty of time to get seats and the handout with the order of players. This is a much more informal recital but if you’ve been a part of it in the past, you remember that the residents have glowed with appreciated for the time and enjoyment brought by the students. If you are unavailable on that day, please let me know. Otherwise, I will plan on your attendance.

November is a Forte T-Shirt month. If you have a Forte t-shirt, wear it to lessons and your name will be entered in the drawing for a white datexx© cube timer. They’re handy for keeping track of your practice times and monitoring better progress. Don’t miss out! If you don’t have a t-shirt but would like one, I probably still have your size. Bring $8 and there’s time to get one before the new month. The winner will be chosen at month's end and the timer awarded at the first lesson in December.

If you were getting weekly email reminders about piano lessons, I’m very sorry for the nuisance that is. I believe I have turned those off but if you want that or like it, it’s easy to add back on the student portal page.

The Christmas crate comes out next week! It is filled with all levels of carols and holiday music that we’ll be playing in coming weeks.

A reminder that if you have a lesson to make-up, Monday, November 25 is the day for that. Otherwise, there are no lessons the entire week of Thanksgiving.

Students are passing to new books & higher levels, others are making progress earning small practice prizes and we’re making some great music. Thanks for pressing on and working hard. See you at your next lesson!

~Donna
